Sotto voce is Italian for “in a quiet voice.” It's how you talk when someone's asleep in the next room.
Why we started Sotto Voce.
We started Sotto Voce with a pen and paper, after seeing many of our close friends-families disturbed with the inconvenience of a loud blaring alarm every single morning, and the drowsiness that comes after it. So we came up with this solution.

What we did before selling a single band.
Only publish the lines that are true, with your real numbers.
- We wore samples every night for 30 days, through workouts and handwashing.
- We set all 10 alarms and checked that every one fired.
- We timed the setup of the alarm
- We measured the sound in a dark bedroom: 65 dB at arm's length. Physically capable to wake you up, able to avoid waking others
- We wrote our own English quick-start card.
